Privacy Policy

General Issues

This Privacy Policy covers how we treat the information we collect or receive from you when you visit our site. Community Boards is committed to protecting your privacy online. While using our web site, you do not have to identify yourself or divulge any personal information. If you should choose to give us your personal information, you decide the amount of information you provide.

The only information that we will collect is when people subscribe to our e-mail lists.  We use Constant Contact (www.constantcontact.com) for all e-communications.  Though the originating email addresses are visible as “@communityboards.org,” some servers will read and filter them originating from a third party.  Your security settings may treat these e-communications as spam, etc.  Please adjust your settings to accommodate this if you wish to continuing receiving ongoing e-communications from Community Boards.  The information you provide is stored with the utmost security available.

We will not collect personal information from you other than what you provide to us on a voluntary basis. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, such as your name, address, e-mail address, or phone number. If you are asked to provide personal information, we will always explain the extent of its use. Generally, we collect contact information only for the purpose for which you volunteered it – e.g. to receive information. If you do not want the information to be collected or used by us for those purposes, you can simply “opt out.”

We will not otherwise rent, sell, trade or disclose your personal information to third parties or other non-affiliated organizations.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection

Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13.

Third party advertisers

We do not partner with, or have special relationships with, any ad server companies. We do not employ the use of banner advertising on this site.
