As we embrace this season of connection and gratitude, we at Community Boards appreciate every member of our community. Your shared commitment to the values of transformative conflict resolution, fostering understanding, and strengthening democracy in our neighborhoods makes our organizational resiliency possible.

We are proud of the achievements we collectively made in 2024. Here are a few program highlights that really stand out.

• Trained 310 people in mediation and advanced conflict resolution skills.

• Provided guidance and support for 58 Neighborhood Courts hearings.

• Awarded training scholarships to 50 people from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, low income, and other diverse communities.

• Launched a new Oakland Civilian/Police Mediation Program generously funded by the JAMS Foundation.

• Inaugurated a new citywide community engagement program – Hey, Neighbor! Community Circles – that convenes shared group discussions on topical issues.

• Provided 110 youth with conflict resolution support through our Rising Up collaboration.

• Fielded 620 requests for services and provided 341 referrals to social service agencies.

• Led 36 neighborhood-based mediations for 90 people.

• Facilitated meetings for 230 people.
