The Basics of Mediation Training
Become a Certified Mediator with Community Boards’ 40-hour Basics of Mediation training. It’s ideal for people who want to learn to mediate and to enhance their conflict resolution skills. A nationally-recognized training, Basics teaches a practical and proven step-by-step framework to become a successful, neutral third-party mediator.
Basics is a training designed for managers, HR professionals, attorneys, ombudsmen, social workers, and others wanting to expand their professional and personal skill sets.
Held over two consecutive weekends, participants gain the knowledge, techniques, and skills needed to handle a broad range of disputes. Training topics include effective communication skills, dealing with strong emotions, de-escalating anger, addressing diversity, balancing power, and much more.
Upon completion, participants are Certified Mediators, meeting the requirements of California Trial Courts’ various mediation programs and fulfilling the prerequisites for California’s Dispute Resolution Program Act (DRPA).
