Community Boards helps San Francisco residents, nonprofit organizations and businesses find peaceful solutions to conflicts through mediation, facilitation and training. We train and certify over 100 new mediators a year.
We help people manage everyday conflicts by addressing disputes before they escalate to violence or property damage, such as conflict between neighbors, roommates, youth, and families, as well as disputes that might lead to litigation.
Our Neighborhood Mediation Program is the oldest, longest-running public mediation service in the United States. We offer all San Francisco residents conflict resolution services for a nominal fee. This is made possible by our large pool of certified volunteer mediators who reflect San Francisco’s great diversity. Our dispute resolution services are offered in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Over 85% of our cases are resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.
